talking pattern -Alyssa John

inspired by initial theme talking colour in London I chose to draw the train seat from the dlr train which incorporated a pattern I consider nostalgic as someone who grew up taking this train everyday to school.

while originally thinking about colour from the image of the dlr, while exploring ways to think about patterns, I thought shapes also developed in the pattern on the chair.

1-54 African art fair @ Somerset House

inspired after attending the 1-54 African art fair at Somerset house , I chose to make explore the patterns I saw in the art pieces displayed through drawings done with oil pastels and crayons. As well as lines and various ways stripes were displayed, i was inspired by the use of black and white as well as natural colours to form patterns.
